SALEM (WBZNewsRadio) - A man by the name of Rocket Power is under arrest and facing assault with a dangerous weapon charges in Salem, after allegedly shooting an "Orbeeze gun" from a moving vehicle.

Salem Police responded to the area of 111 Canal Street just before 6 p.m. on Thursday. They had received a 9-1-1 call, reporting a person was shooting what appeared to be a BB gun out of the window of a small grey sedan. The caller was walking home from Salem State University and was able to give police a full description of the car and where it went.

Salem officers caught up with the sedan a short time later. When police walked up to the vehicle, an officer noticed a rifle barrel at the feet of a passenger in the backseat. The rifle turned out to be an "Orbeeze gun," a plastic toy, which typically shoots water gel balls.

The two people in the front of the car explained they had picked up a man named Rocket Power in the area of Canal Street and had been taking turns shooting one another with the toy gun. Then they told officers, Power started shooting the gun out of the car window.

The man from Florida was taken into custody and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Authorities say this is the second incident involving an "Orbeeze gun" in less than a month in the Witch City. Because these toy-guns are quite realistic looking, both incidents caused public panic and a large police response.
