ABINGTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — An Abington restaurant was chosen by Yelp as one of the top 100 brunch spots to celebrate Mother's Day.
Yaz's Table at 1209 Bedford St. made the list because of its exotic Egyptian seasonings and creative martinis and drinks.
"Considering that there are thousands of competing restaurants, it’s just a big deal for all of us," owner Yasmin Zachary told WBZ NewsRadio Wednesday.
Zachary's menu items are inspired by her mother's old Egyptian recipes, such as the Cairo street corn mega lobster roll.
"We’re literally stuffing half a pound of fresh Maine lobster meat, and we’re tossing it in my secret Egyptian mustard aioli, a little bit of street corn salsa, and it’s served on a buttered brioche roll," Zachary said.
There is also the restaurant's signature dish, The Sultan—A bowl of sweet potato and golden potato home fries tossed in Egyptian Arabic seasonings with two strips of extra thick Sriracha maple glaze bacon.
"What my team now is using is, it has to be 'Yazzed up,'" said Zachary. "So we’ll take what’s ordinary and then we take it to a whole ‘nother level."
