BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - When the Lowell Animal Control discovered a seven month old kitten on the streets of Lowell, they realized they needed to act fast to save the small animal's life.
The kitten's hind leg was fractured beyond repair and needed emergency medical attention.
Lowell Animal Control contacted the Animal Rescue League of Boston who took the kitten to ARL's Dedham facility for emergency amputation. ARL performed the surgery, which would have cost several thousand dollars at an emergency veterinary hospital.
The kitten, now called Baguette, is recovering remarkably. She appears to be pain-free, happy and healthy. Soon she'll be ready for her forever home.
