BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The MBTA spent a good part of yesterday and overnight making repairs following a derailment Monday afternoon on the Green Line B Branch in the area of Packard's Corner.
The 'T' said about 30 passengers were on board the trolley that came off the tracks around 1:40 p.m.
No one was hurt.
The derailed train was placed back on the track and moved from the scene.
Shuttle buses were used to replace trolley service between Kenmore Square and Washington Street before trains were put back into service shortly after 5:00 this morning.
Meantime, MBTA riders said they are hoping for a smoother ride today. Chloe said while the shuttle buses helped yesterday, sometimes when the 'T' is having issues, she prefers to walk. "I think sometimes the timing of the 'T' is ... unpredictable," she said. "When things like this happen, I choose to walk instead of taking the shuttle buses."
MBTA General Manager Phillip Eng said that they believe the condition of the tracks contributed to the derailment.
