BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - Franklin Park Zoo has welcomed two new bouncing kangaroos to it's Outback Trail exhibit.
Auggie and Opal are both western gray kangaroos and have joined several red kangaroos and wallabies in the habitat. Zoo officials said there are several ways to spot the differences between the animals. Gray kangaroos tend to be small and slender, versus the larger red kangaroos. Meantime wallabies are small, fuzzy and round, while emus are larger and round.
It's the first time gray kangaroos have been housed at the Zoo, since it's opening in 1912.
