Boston Art & Music Soul (BAMS) Festival
Thousands of people are expected to gather at Franklin Park for the annual Boston Art & Music Soul (BAMS) Festival this weekend.
The festival that celebrates Black and Brown artists and audiences began a day early with a brand new symposium on Thursday at Berklee School of Music.
According to BAMS Fest Managing Director Paul Willis, the goal of the festival is to "break down racial, social, and economic barriers for Black and Brown artists right here in Boston and beyond."
"We hope to be everywhere in this city," Willis added. "Amplifying Black voices, perspectives, creating opportunities for creatives to have equity and ownership stake in their own careers."
Friday night kicks things off with Maimouna Youssef and Zyah Belle, running from 5 p.m. through 9 p.m. Grandmaster Flash, Terri Lyne Carrington, and Kevin Ross will take the stage on Saturday between 12 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Beantown Beanfest
Beantown Beanfest is hosting it's first-annual festival dedicated to all things beans. Everything from cocoa beans to Boston baked beans will be featured in a celebration of food and entertainment.
"We are so excited about the vendors, entertainers and partenrs who have come together for our inaugural Beantown Beanfest," said Christina Knowles, Executive Director of Beantown Beanfest. "We are showcasing local small businesses that are the foundation of the economy from every neighborhood and community through out the area."
The festival is free and runs on the Rose Kennedy Greenway from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Celebrate Hyde Park: A Festival in the Streets
On Saturday, the Hyde Park neighborhood is throwing a massive street party to celebrate it's residents, businesses and friends of the community.
It's the first year for the 21+ block party event in Logan Square and will feature live music, food trucks, craft breweries and bites from local restaurants.
The event takes place in Logan Square from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
The Boston Pizza Festival
More than 20,000 hungry pizza lovers are expected to file onto Boston's City Hall Plaza both Saturday and Sunday for New England's largest pizza festival.
Along with delicious eats, there will be live entertainment, pizza demonstrations and something for everyone in the family, including a pizza tossing station for the little ones.
Admission is free with the opportunity to purchase pizza tokens for $3.00, each token is good for one full-size slice of pizza, and yes that includes vegan and gluten free options.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. through 6 p.m. both Saturday, June 24, and Sunday, June 25.
Black-Owned Bos. Market
Aside from delicious eats and musical events, there is also some excellent shopping happening this weekend. The Black-owned Bos. Market runs Sunday June 25, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. along the Seaport.
