CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — MBTA Transit Police say a drunk driver plowed through the Harvard Square bus tunnel early Friday morning. The tunnel is reserved for MBTA buses.
Police say the crash happened at about 12:30 a.m. on Friday, when a 33-year-old man allegedly slammed into a pole on the lower busway. Police said the man was intoxicated when the crash happened.
The suspect was taken to Transit Police headquarters to be booked. He was lightly injured.
