BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Orange Line service has been knocked out in downtown Boston on Tuesday after heavy rain overnight. Service was suspended between North Station and Back Bay because of flooding in the tunnels near Haymarket Station.
The MBTA said crews were on scene trying to get trains back online as of about 8:00 a.m. The agency is asking riders to use the Green Line between North Station and Copley, which is about 1,000 feet away.
All MBTA subway lines are running on a Saturday schedule on Tuesday for July 4th until 3:00 p.m., when they'll switch to a regular weekday schedule. Fares are free after 9:30 p.m.
