NEW SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A driver has died after a tree fell on top of his vehicle in New Salem Wednesday morning.
State Police said their preliminary investigation indicates William Mattei was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado on Route 122, near Sweezy Road, when the tree came crashing down onto his truck. The 75-year-old from Leicester died at the scene.
No one else was in the vehicle or hurt in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
