BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - North End Restaurant owner, Patrick Mendoza appeared in a Boston court room Friday afternoon on charges stemming from a shooting outside Modern Pastry earlier this month.

A judge ordered Mendoza held without bail and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. He's expected back in court next Wednesday, July 26.

Mendoza was arrested earlier this morning on a warrant for two counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon and assault and battery, after several days on the run following the shooting on July 12th.

The search for Mendoza began July 12th, after an argument erupted in gunfire outside the popular North End bakery around 11 p.m. When police arrived on scene, a male victim told officers he had been waiting for his daughter to get off work, when Mendoza started cursing and yelling at him, before shooting twice in his direction.

The victim added he's known Mendoza for more than two decades and the pair are involved in an ongoing feud.

This is a developing story.
