Hingham Police Searching For Suspects Who Tried To Steal An ATM

HINGHAM, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - Authorities are on the look out for two-suspects who Police said tried to steal an ATM overnight in Hingham.

Hingham Police got a call around 3:45 a.m. for a report a pair of men were trying to break into the drive-up ATM. The alarm company told officers the suspects had placed a chain, attached to their truck, around the ATM and were trying to pull it free.

As officers pulled up to the Bank of America on Sgt. William B. Terry Drive, the suspects took off in their SUV. A police chase followed, before the suspects abandoned their vehicle behind a home on Bradley Park Drive and ran away.

The ATM which has been broken into three times in the last three years, was damaged, but the suspects didn't manage to snag any cash.

The suspects remain on the loose. Authorities are asking anyone with any information about the incident or about the SUV, described as a white 2007 Cadillac Escalade, that was abandoned on Bradley Park Drive, to give them a call at 781-804-2238.
