NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - Authorities are investigating an apparent homicide in the City of New Bedford.
Police responded to County Street Thursday evening just after 11:00 p.m. for a Shot Spotter activation and several 911 calls for a man shot in the area.
When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting, but no victim. A short time later, a man suffering from gunshot wounds was dropped off at Saint Luke's Hospital.
The man now identified as Amarueito Fernandes, died at the hospital.
No word on what may have led up to the shooting and no arrests have been made.
