WOODSTOCK, N.H. (WBZNewsRadio) - A tuber is back on dry land after being rescued from Pemigewasset River in Woodstock, New Hampshire this week.
Campton-Thornton Fire-Rescue said they got a call for a person in need of help along the river at an unknown location on Tuesday, August 8th, around 5:30 p.m. With the help of New Hampshire 911, lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid and Grafton County Sheriff dispatchers, the tuber was located near East Side Road.
When first responders arrived on scene, they spotted the individual stranded in the center of the river, standing in a shallow section of water.
"With an increase in recent rainfall, many of our normally calm rivers are higher and flowing faster than normal." Campton-Thornton Fire-Rescue said. "Please monitor river conditions and only tube or boat within your abilities."
Rescuers used what's known as a "cross tension diagonal" rope line across the river to bring the tuber safely to land. The tuber was not hurt.
