BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - Tis the season of the Summer Fair and it appears this weekend has a plethora of opportunity to grab a turkey leg or fried dough and hop on the Ferris wheel.
The Martha’s Vineyard Fair began on Thursday and runs through Sunday, Aug. 20th. “Nothing says August on the Island quite like the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Society Livestock Show & Fair.” The organization wrote on it’s website, and we couldn’t agree more.

The Hardwick Fair gets underway on Friday, running through Saturday, Aug. 19th. The annual two-day event offers all the fan-fair of the traditional get-together, including agricultural exhibits, food, live music and dance and of course rides for the kiddos. Don’t forget to check out their antique tractor parade!

The 95th Westfield Fair takes place this weekend, starting Friday and running through Sunday. This year attendees will get the chance to watch the annual rodeo, there will be a petting zoo for the kids, along with plenty of food and entertainment for the whole family.
Vroom Vroom to the fair on Sunday for antique tractor pulls, the truck and equipment show, lawn mower racing, a kids power wheel race, and adult beef juggling.

The Cornish Fair opens in New Hampshire on Friday, this year’s theme? Sunflowers! Friday Catfish Howl Zydeco Band will perform at 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. bringing their New Orleans style to the granite state. Saturday is all about the kiddos with a performance by The Little Mermen, a Disney tribute band. They’re expected to take the stage at 12:30 p.m.

Celebrating 105 years, the Heath fair returns in full force, opening Friday and running through Sunday. With fireworks, animal demonstrations and displays and family fun, you won’t want to miss this year’s celebration.

The Marshfield Fair returns for a whopping 10-days, starting Friday Aug. 18th. Opening weekend is Country music weekend, with special musical guests Blame the Whiskey, Houston Bernard, Timmy Brown, Jack and Jenny, and No Shoes Nation Band. Through out the week there are a number of awesome events like a demolition derby on Mon. Aug. 21 and a bird-carving contest on Sat. Aug. 26th.
By the way, if you’re skipping this weekend, next weekend the North River Blues Festival comes to the fair.
