BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - National Weather Service confirms tornados touched down earlier today, one in the Mansfield/North Attleboro area, the other in the area of Scituate/Johnston, Rhode Island. Now surveyors will head to the impacted areas to assess the strength and damage of the storm.
Several tornado warnings, severe thunderstorm, and flash flood warnings were issued through out the morning as severe weather blew through.
NWS said most likely they'll release an update on the strength of the storm sometime this afternoon.
