BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - A series of tornado warnings were in place for several parts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island earlier today.
The most recent warning covered Hingham, North Scituate, Southfield, Randolph, Abington and Holbrook, Massachusetts until 10:45 a.m.
Officials asking residents in those areas to take shelter in a basement and away from windows and doors. If you're located inside a mobile home or vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
Earlier today, a tornado warning was issued for Brockton, Randolph and Abington, MA until 9:45 a.m.
And before that, Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) issued a tornado warning for Attleboro, Mansfield, and Franklin Massachusetts. A tornado warning was also issued for Providence, Rhode Island, both warnings expired at 9:15 a.m.
Severe thunderstorm warnings and flash flood warnings remain in place across the area, including Boston, Cambridge and Brockton.
