Water Search Resumes In Douglas Following Discovery Of Overturned Kayak

DOUGLAS, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - Massachusetts State Police and Environmental Police have joined the ongoing search for a possible missing kayaker in Douglas this morning.

"A witness reported seeing a man fishing from a kayak Thursday morning. On Thursday afternoon the kayak was found overturned and the man was not with it." State Police said.

Police also shared a close-up photograph of the kayak once it had been pulled from the water.

Authorities began searching for the man Thursday night, but found nothing.

The search resumed Friday morning with dive teams hitting the water with side-scan sonar.
