Work Hard, Play Hard: MGH IHP Students Volunteer at Harvard Kent Elementary

BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) — Hundreds of students from the MGH Institute of Health Professions (IHP) are volunteering at more than two dozen Boston area organizations. Today, many went to Harvard Kent Elementary to work with students from Kindergarten to sixth grade.

"We come and we work with the kids. We do fun activities. We emphasize the importance of physical activity, to stay healthy," said Jane Baldwin with MGH IHP.

With Baldwin’s help, the IHP students organized physically and mentally stimulating activities that focused on teamwork.

"It's great to have our partners come to be a part of the learning process," said Principal Tyrell Adeyemi. "To help our students build up some community building skills, work on some agility, have a little fun."

This outreach program is part of a course all IHP students take part in, giving them ways to help the community while also having some fun too.
