DEDHAM, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - A pair of adorable squirrel babies are safe and sound, all thanks to a duo of Verizon workers who came across the youngsters while at work in Dedham.

"While doing some wiring work, about fifteen feet up, the workers noticed the squirrel nest, which was smack in the middle of their path of work!" Dedham Animal Control said. "The workers carefully placed the four babies into a cardboard box and awaited Animal Control to check them out."

As Animal Control officers arrived, the "Momma Squirrel" returned, searching for her little ones. She was able to find her babies in about 20 minutes and then moved them, one by one, to a new nest. After all was said and done, the family of five were reunited. What's more, Verizon was able to finish the wiring work as well.
