More Than Two Dozen Displaced Following Fire In East Boston

BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - Nearly three dozen people, including nine children have been displaced following a fire in East Boston, involving a pair of triple decker buildings. What's more, Boston Firefighters were able to rescue several cats from the burning buildings.

The fire began in a triple decker wood frame on Saratoga Street shortly after 6 a.m. and quickly spread to a second triple decker. Fire crews were able to get the flames under control but remained on scene tackling hot spots through out the morning.

In total, 24 adults and nine children were displaced.

No word on any injuries at this time.
