BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - History hits the auction block in Boston this weekend for RR Auction's annual Remarkable Rarities sale. This year's auction features 100 items, including tickets to Ford's Theatre on April 14, 1865, the same night President Abraham Lincoln lost his life.

"This pair of front row Ford's Theatre tickets, which were facing Lincoln's box, allowed the original theatergoers to witness America's most tragic performance," said Bobby Livingston, Executive VP at RR Auction. "We know of only one other used April 14, 1865 ticket bearing a seat assignment that exists, making these two from the Forbes Collection extremely valuable."

The incredibly rare tickets are expected to fetch more than $100,000.

It isn't just the tickets to Ford's Theatre up for grabs. The auction set for Saturday at The Royal Sonesta Boston will offer an extremely rare original copy of Alexander Hamilton's The Federalist Papers from 1788, Harry Houdini's personally-owned escape act props, Albert Einstein autographs and even Apollo 17 moonwalker Gene Cernan's flown EVA cuff checklist.

Online bidding is already underway. The public is encouraged to come to physical auction Saturday, September 23rd, at 1:00 p.m. at the Royal Sonesta Boston.
