READING, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - Massachusetts State Police are investigating after a deadly crash involving a box truck and a pick up truck on Rt. 93 overnight.
Troopers were called to the scene in Reading near the Commerce Way ramp, just after 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 28th. Officials said their initial investigation found the pick-up truck was stopped in the right lane for unknown reasons, when the box truck slammed into it, pushing the vehicle into the acceleration lane for the ramp.
The driver of the truck, 41 year old Michael Murphy of Tewksbury did not survive. The driver of the box truck, a 51 year old from Vermont, wasn't hurt and has been cooperating with investigators.
