Boston Police Search For Suspect After The Theft Of $70,000 Viola

BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - Boston police are asking for the public's help to identify the person involved in the theft of a Viola, worth $70,000.

Authorities said back on Sunday, August 27th, the instrument was stolen in the area of 120 Glenville Avenue sometime between 2:50 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. Police are still actively reviewing the larceny incident.

The instrument is described as 16.5 inches long, inside a black BAM Black Panther High Tech case with two Boston University stickers, and a Vivant Vintage sticker. The Viola is valued at $70,000, while the case is valued at an estimated $1,300.

The suspect was last seen around 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15th, in Allston, in the Harvard Avenue area. He's described as a White man, somewhere between 30 and 40 years old, with a stocky build, light moustache and beard with dark colored curly hair. The man also has a number of dark blue tattoos on his forearms.
