PROVINCETOWN, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - An auction in Provincetown is really starting to heat up, as the Fire Department has put a 2001 Frieghtliner FC80 Ferrara Fire Engine up for grabs.

The engine is listed by Municibid, an online auction platform "for government agencies, schools, authorities and utilities to sell their surplus and forfeitures directly to the public."

The Freightliner has a short wheel base, which was custom to make travel on narrow and congested streets easier. The listing says the vehicle "runs and drives well" and was last inspected in January 2023. Aside from what's beneath the engine, the truck also comes complete with flame decals.

The Fire Engine isn't the only listing from the department, they're also auctioning off a Westebeke Diesel Generator and Hurst Extrication tools, complete with a pump. Provincetown's Highway department is also doing some seasonal cleaning. They're auctioning off a 1984 Mack DM685S and a 1992 Mach CH 600.

The town of Chelmsford is also auctioning off a fire engine, as is the town of Boxford.
