BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — As the world seems to move towards more robots, Bostonians are worried about the future of automation.

Amazon is partnering with Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT) to study how robots and technology impact the workplace and workers.

WBZ NewsRadio’s Chris Fama spoke with Boston residents to see how they felt about a robotic future and many were worried about their jobs being replaced.

“It’s like the assembly line, you know, that got real short. There used to be 30 people on that line. Now it’s just one person because the robots are doing everything,” said one resident.

“Technology’s moving so fast we can’t even catch up. The reality of it is we’re going to be the Jetsons real soon. It makes you wonder what it’s going to be [like],” said one woman.

“I don’t like it. I can promise you that if I see one on the job site, I’m breaking it,” said a Bostonian, claiming many of his coworkers agree.

“If a robot came up on me at 4:00 A.M with a microphone trying to talk to me, I’m not talking to a robot. It’s crazy enough that I’m talking to you,” said another man.
