BOSTON (WBZNewsRadio) - It’s the weekend before Halloween and all across the Commonwealth creatures are prepping their costumes as witches and goblins ready their bowls of treats.
What's more, this weekend will feel more like Summer than late October with temperatures expected somewhere in the high 70s, possibly even hitting 80 degrees on Saturday. Sunday will be drastically cooler, with temperatures only expected in the 50s.
With the warm weather comes a warning from the Mayor of Salem Dominick Pangallo about the crowds in the Witch City, saying they expect 100,000 visitors on Saturday alone.
"We’re expecting a very large numbers of visitors to Salem this weekend," the Mayor wrote. "Oh, and it’s also a full moon."
Salem officials are asking anyone planning to visit this weekend to opt for public transportation if at all possible. Mayor Pangallo also reminding those visitors opting to wear a costume to leave the faux-weapons at home.
For those living in Salem who want to escape the haunted-weekend happenings, the North Shore Children's Museum in Peabody is offering 1/2 off admission for Salem residents this weekend.

There will be a mysterious maze to explore, a chance to create your own witches brew, a donut eating competition and yes, of course there will be a costume contest.

Tales of The Night at Drumlin Farm
Start the weekend right with a fright. The annual spooky tradition returns to Drumlin Farm where attendees will get the chance to meet scary critters, take a haunted hayride, “prowl the farm on candlelit paths,” and check out all the scarecrows, jack-o-lanterns and much more.

Just a little bit of “Hocus Pocus” At Fenway Park
Catch a movie under the Green Monster Friday night at Fenway Park with a 7:00 p.m. showing of the 1990’s film. By the way, if the movie isn’t your thing, why not take the kiddos trick-or-treating on the warning track between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. ahead of curtains up.

Doggone Halloween Costume Contest
Cue the dogs, the Doggone Halloween Costume Contest is back in Downtown Crossing this weekend. This year more than 85 pups with put on costumes and take to the streets to show off their costumes.

Head over to the Natick Common for an afternoon of Halloween fun. There will be balloon-twisting, temporary tattoos, crafts and live music. There will also be a number of downtown businesses participating in an afternoon trick-or-treat session.

Franklin Park Zoo had been celebrating the haunted season all month long with festive pumpkin meals and costume contests and this weekend, on both Saturday & Sunday, the facility will host it’s annual “ZOO HOWL.” There will be a costume contest, activities and educators on hand throughout the zoo to answer any questions and provide information on all the wildlife that calls Franklin Park home.

Witches Paddle 2023 (Rain Date)
The annual witchy-paddle was supposed to take place last weekend, but because of the weather, the witches will ‘set sail’ this Sunday through Wickford Harbor. Witches, goblins and ghouls of all shapes and sizes are welcome to paddle around the harbor and yes there will be prizes for the best costume.

PruBoo 2023!
The ghosts are taking over the Prudential for the annual “PruBOO” event. More than 50 stores will offer goodies to trick-or-treaters. Along with the candy, there will be face-painting, pumpkin decorating, magic shows and a musical performance.
