Basement Fire In Ludlow Under Investigation

LUDLOW, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) - Five residents have been displaced following a basement fire in Ludlow on Halloween.

Firefighters responded to the home on Hampden Street around 7:40 a.m. and were met with smoke billowing out from the side door of the home.

The flames were under control within 20 minutes and no one was hurt. Unfortunately one of four cats inside the home did not survive the fire. Five residents have been displaced and are getting help from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
