BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — It was another record-breaking year for the legal cannabis industry in Massachusetts.
Sales at Massachusetts dispensaries exceeded $1.56 billion in 2023, the state's Cannabis Control Commission said in a press release Tuesday.
The commission said sales were up by $78 million, a 5 percent increase over 2022. This was the sixth year in a row that sales of adult-use cannabis have increased in Massachusetts.
December 2023 also broke a record for highest monthly sales with $140.1 million, surpassing record sales in August earlier that year, according to the commission.
