BOSTON – (WBZ NewsRadio) — First Lady Jill Biden will be in New England this week for a fundraiser and an event about women’s health research, according to a White House press release. Biden will visit both Connecticut and Massachusetts on Tuesday and will leave the area on Wednesday afternoon, according to her office.
The focus of Biden’s Connecticut appearance is a political finance event for the Biden Victory Fund, and her Massachusetts appearance on Wednesday morning is part of a White House initiative on Women’s Health Research. Biden leads the initiative, which was designed in November to close the gender research gap in health care.
“Every woman I know has a story about leaving her doctors' office with more questions than answers. Not because our doctors are withholding information, but because there’s not enough research yet on how to best manage and treat even common women’s health conditions. In 2023, that is unacceptable”. Biden said in a statement.
The first lady is a longtime educator and teaches writing at Northern Virginia Community College.
