BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The 2024 Sunset Concerts at Symphony Park have returned to Boston.

The popular summer concert series is put on by Berklee College of Music, the city of Boston, and others.

The shows kick off this week with a performance by Albino Mbie and his band featuring African and Jazz music.

The performances run every Tuesday night through July.

Mbie said he's excited about playing in Boston. "I'm very much looking forward to being part of this community and to bringing unity with me and the band."

The Berklee professor of music said he's excited about the outdoor venue where the concerts are being held. "Having these events in the middle of a lot of buildings, people will be listening to music from inside and outside and getting together with the band with some intimacy."

The family-friendly events are free and get underway at 6 p.m.

A different musician is featured each week. July 9: Albino Mbie, July 16: Ariadne, July 23: Dominic Nye Quartet, July 30: Kaju Barfi
