Celtics Players Create Grant For Local Entrepreneurs

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Jrue and Lauren Holiday Social Impact Fund (JLH) and The Boston Xchange (BXC) partnered together to provide a new grant opportunity to help Boston-based business. 

Celtics stars Jrue Holiday and Jaylen Brown, founder of BXC, announced the first accelerator program, The Boston Creator Program, that aims to assist local entrepreneurs in their journey to create a successful company.

Select businesses will receive up to $100,000 from the non-profits to go towards their prototypes, productions and launch of their projects.

This grant will also provide coaching form local Roxbury Community College, MIT’s Entrepreneurship Center and Harvard business school.

In a press release, Jrue Holiday said the collaboration with the community will assist marginalized and underrepresented communities with the funding mentorship and resources they need.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu also showed support and said in the press release “We are delighted that the JLH Social Impact Fund is making a difference to reshape opportunity and build community. I look forward to partnering with Jrue and Lauren Holiday and our community to drive innovation and impact across our neighborhoods.”
