LYNNFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — There’s nothing sour about these two friends making some dough.

Athene Yagjian and Jacqui Viscarello are best friends and business partners for Fire & Flour, a micro bakery based in Lynnfield.

The story began with Yagjian last November, when “I really wanted to gift some loaves for the next Christmas, and I have that piper focus, so I went all in and baked and baked until I mastered it,” she told WBZ NewsRadio.

Viscarello tasted the finished product and instantly knew Yagjian’s sourdough was too good not to share. “… I called her and said ‘I think we can really do something with this,” Viscarello said.

So, the two friends started Fire & Flour bakery in April of this year. Nearly four months later, they have accumulated a dedicated customer base with over two thousand followers on Instagram.

“They’re excited to see our Instagram reels; they’re excited to taste our new flavors,” Yagian said. “People want to be a part of it and it’s really fun to see the response.”

Despite both of them having a full-time job outside of their bakery, they said the hustle for this bakery is worth it.

“I love being in the kitchen and I love the feeling of providing something that the community wants and making people happy,” added Viscarello.

Fire & Flour often creates unique and delicious flavored sourdough, and they open pre-orders every Sunday at 8 P.M.
