BEVERLY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Lynch Park in Beverly, located right on the Atlantic, is the place to be this week with its annual Beverly Homecoming underway through August 11th.
While the event attracts people from all over the North Shore, Beverly residents especially will tell you it's their favorite place to be each summer. "Every summer I remember this as a child, even when we lived in Georgia," said Medley Long, one of the event's organizers.
He said his favorite homecoming day is 'Lobsterfest'. "Boiled lobster. We have lobster rolls. We have fried haddock sandwiches."
There's also live music, family-friendly movies, lawn games, and a road race among the week's activities.
Olive is 99. She said she's been coming to homecoming since the very first one was held, and she enjoys coming to the event and seeing people she knows. "There are people I went to school with, and they come back for this week," she said. "I wouldn't miss it."
