STERLING, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Pumpkin patches, apple farms, and corn mazes are all staples of fall family fun. Fortunately, Massachusetts has the best spots for one of these activities, according to the 2024 USA Today's 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards.
The annual list had categories on the best fall travel, food, and activities nominated by industry experts and winners chosen by a public voting.
One category on the list is the best corn mazes in the country, and the Davis Mega Maze in Sterling topped the list at number eight.
The Davis Farm started in 1846 and the mega corn maze opened in 1998. The maze is a 3-D thriller maze with acres of corn and miles of puzzling trails carved out by hand. Over the years, the maze expanded to seven intensity levels that incorporated mobile small games throughout the journey.
Other husk farms in New England that made the list: Treworgy Family Orchards in Maine was ranked number one. It is about four acres and is the longest continually running corn maze in Maine. The Great Vermont Corn Maze in Danville, Vermont at number four that offers two mazes. The longer maze could take up to three hours to complete.

- Irons Mill Farmstead - New Wilmington, Pennsylvania
