The Tennessee Titans are reportedly finalizing a trade to send wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a conditional fourth-round draft pick, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN's Adam Schefter Wednesday (October 23) morning.
"It’s happening: Titans and Chiefs are working to finalize a trade that would send WR DeAndre Hopkins to Kansas City, league sources tell ESPN," Schefter wrote on his X account.
Hopkins, 32, once regarded as one of the NFL's best receivers, is in the final year of a two-year deal he signed during the 2023 offseason. The Chiefs have a need at the wide receiver position, having lost Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown to a shoulder injury in the preseason, Rashee Rice to a season-ending knee injury in Week 4 and JuJu Smith-Schuster to a hamstring injury in Week 7 that has already ruled him inactive for Sunday's (October 27) game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Hopkins recorded 15 receptions for 173 yards and one touchdown during his final six games with the last place Titans in 2024. The former Clemson standout caught 75 receptions for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns in 2023.
The Chiefs are currently undefeated through their first six games despite their need at the wide receiver position. Kansas City is looking to three-peat as Super Bowl champions, having won in each of the last two seasons and three of the last five years.
