SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Salem is buzzing with excitement and visitors for Halloween.
Many visitors have arrived from out of state, hoping to get the most out of their visit to the witch city.
Brianna and Britney from Texas began walking the streets of Salem before the sun rose Thursday morning. They said they are planning to enjoy the festivities long after the sun sets.
“That is the plan,” said Brianna. “Because when are we ever going to do this again?”
“It’s a bad idea but it’s fine,” she added. “It’s going to be fine!”
Locals are bracing themselves for another night of loud noises, extremely crowded streets, and no parking.
“Some days I get good energy out of it, and then some days you get the drunk people, and they get all crazy and stuff,” he said.
“I build off the energy that comes with it yes, I’m a big fan of Halloween,” said another.
Large crowds are still expected in the area despite the brushfire smoke lingering in the air. The warm weather is also expected to incentivize people to come out for some fun.
“We’re just going to be enjoying the atmosphere and the spookiness,” said Austin, visiting from California with friends.
