BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — One local bookstore made Thanksgiving special for those who could not be around friends or family for the holiday.
Trident Booksellers & Cafe on Newbury Street put a special twist on Friendsgiving with activities centered around a theme.
“We wanted to do something for people who aren’t going home for the holidays, whether it’s college students or really, any adults,” said Event Runner Jordan Sahley.
It’s a newer take on Friendsgiving, as participants got a nametag and picked out a board game while the sitcom “Friends” played in the background.
“Yeah, that’s kind of the goal to get people to meet other people in Boston,” added Sahley.

Ryan was happy to join in on the fun, since traveling home for Turkey Day was not possible for him this year.
“It’s a good time so far!” Ryan said.
“I also like the games they got, hopefully we’ll meet some people as well,” said another participant.
Spending quality time around people you may see yourself spending more time with, may just be the point after all.
