Funeral For Conan O'Brien's Parents Will Be Held Wednesday

BROOKLINE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A funeral for the parents of comedian Conan O’Brien will be held Wednesday, Dec. 18 in Chestnut Hill, Mass.  

Meanwhile, calling hours for both Ruth Reardon O’Brien and Dr. Thomas O’Brien were held Tuesday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Chestnut Hill, Mass.  

Conan’s father Thomas died on Monday, Dec. 9 at the age of 94, and his mother Ruth died just three days later on Dec. 12.  

The couple was married for 66 years and died at their home in Brookline.  

Ruth O’Brien made a name for herself by becoming the second female partner at the Ropes & Gray law firm in Boston. Thomas O’Brien was a groundbreaking physician who served as Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases and Director of the Microbiology Laboratory at what is now Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston.  

The couple leaves behind five children including Conan, and nine grandchildren.  

The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
