North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer is recovering from a severe concussion, seizure, and a slight brain bleed after slipping on ice in his backyard on Sunday (February 23). The senator shared details of the incident on his Facebook page, explaining that he fell while walking down a hill to his dock in Bismarck. He does not recall the fall itself, only remembering arriving at the Sanford Health emergency room with his wife, Kris.

Doctors diagnosed Cramer with a severe concussion and a slight brain bleed after conducting a CT scan and other tests. They treated a laceration on his head with staples to stop the bleeding. Cramer is currently resting at home, following his doctor's advice to take a break from his duties in Washington, D.C. He mentioned experiencing bad headaches and is taking anti-seizure medication as part of his recovery.

Cramer has not provided a specific timeline for his return to the Senate, stating that his recovery will be assessed on a day-to-day basis. He expressed gratitude for the well-wishes he received from supporters on social media. This is not the first time Cramer has been injured while doing yard work; in June 2022, he crushed two fingers while moving a rock at his home.
