BRIGHTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Nearly two dozen animals, who were rescued from a small apartment in Brighton last month, are ready to find their new forever-families.
Rob Halpin with the MSPCA-Angell said they worked with Boston Animal Control to get the 20 cats and one dog out of the messy home and back to full health.
"It was a case of too many animals in a particular home," he said. "Then the animals start reproducing, and it gets worse, and worse... It isn't a case of animal cruelty, per se. It's just sometimes, for some people, life gets away from them."
MSCPA-Angell said the cats range in age from seven months to two years, with one three-month-old kitten. Click here to see a video of the animals at the MSPCA in Jamaica Plain.
Boston Elder Services has helped the former owner find more appropriate housing for herself, and she isn't facing any charges.
