BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Friends of Boston’s Homeless hosted the 29th Annual Table of Friends Thanksgiving feast event at TD Garden on Tuesday.
Representatives from TD Garden, the Boston Bruins and Celtics, elected officials like State Treasurer Deb Goldberg and Mayor Michelle Wu, and corporate sponsors of the event all volunteered to serve a Thanksgiving meal to about 1,000 homeless people.
Executive Chef for TD Garden Jason Gorman was one of the many people who prepared this massive meal.
“We made a 500 pound+ pumpkin pie, turkey, stuffing and even some pasta and macaroni,” Gorman said. “We have a team of 10 chefs and 250 cooks, so we did green beans and stuffing and gravy, all sorts of delicious things that everyone's enjoying today, we're having a lot of fun.”

President of TD Garden and COO of the Bruins Glen Thornborough said that was glad that the stadium they his team spends so much time in can also be used for community events like this.
“I think it might be the largest Thanksgiving meal in a Commonwealth,” Thornborough said. “It's part of our opportunity to take a sport and entertainment venue and make it into a community venue. It’s one of the most heartfelt things that we do.”
