5 Bodies Found In Sheffield Home Fire

SHEFFIELD, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — Five dead bodies were found in a burning home in Sheffield, Massachusetts. The fire at 1343 Home Road was called in around 8 a.m. Wednesday with a number of fire departments responding from Berkshire County and other towns in Connecticut. When crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames.

First responders found one body after entering the house once the fire was knocked down. They then searched the rest of the house and found four others. No additional details about the victims have been disclosed.

Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington announced the grim discovery inside this morning.

Sheffield is in the southwest corner of Berkshire County, roughly four miles south of Great Barrington.

Authorities are investigating.
