73-Year-Old Woman Fatally Injured By "Comfort Animal" In Bolton

BOLTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Bolton Police Department has confirmed with WBZ NewsRadio that a 73-year-old woman died from injuries inflicted by a "comfort animal" at Cultivate Care Farms Saturday morning.

At 9:02 a.m. police said they responded to the call of a woman who had been injured by livestock. BPD, Bolton Fire, and medical technicians administered first aid on scene, officials said. The woman was transported to Marlborough Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries, police said.

According to the Cultivate Care Farms website, the organization uses Farm-Based Therapy to treat clients in a partnership with their clinicians.

Police did not identify what type of animal was involved in the woman's fatal injury.

The name of the victim has not been released, and police said they will not release her identity until her family has been notified.
