BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — An elderly suspect is in custody after a non-fatal stabbing in East Boston Friday afternoon, police said.
Boston police said they responded to Brandywyne Drive at around 3 p.m. Friday for a report of a person stabbed. Officers arrived to find a woman suffering from a stab wound to the neck.

The woman was taken to the hospital with what initially appeared to be life-threatening injuries, but upon arrival, it was determined the injuries were non-life-threatening, police said.
The suspect, an 84-year-old man from East Boston, was later arrested and charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, assault to murder, and other charges, according to police. They were taken to the hospital for evaluation and will be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
Neither the victim nor the suspect have been identified.
