KINGSTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Christmas tree sellers are preparing for a large influx of customers that will start after Thanksgiving.
Jonathon Yacovone, co-owner of Sunshine Gardens in Kingston, was impressed by the inventory of trees he received from his growers.
“They’re beautiful this year, they’re full, fat, thick,” Yacovone said. “They’re probably the best trees that I’ve seen working in this industry for the last 13 years.”

Yacovone said the shop worked hard to keep tree prices the same as 2024, despite the threat of tariffs on Canadian goods, as they receive much of their stock from our northern neighbor.
“We had weekly meetings with our growers about that and making sure that we can give the customer the best price and the best quality,” he said. “We had to go over shipping costs and fuel pricing, but all around, everything worked in the customer’s favor this year, which is good to hear.”
Sunshine Gardens kicks off the holiday season with photo opportunities on a winter sleigh, and the chance to meet Santa himself, the one and the same who will be appearing at the Boston Common tree lighting on December 4.
“We play Christmas music from open to close for 12 hours straight a day,” Yacovone said.
