QUINCY, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Andrew Jenkins is a man on a mission, and what a delicious mission it is.

The Mansfield resident's quest is to visit and eat at all 97 locations of the 99 Restaurants in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

"My pseudonym I guess would be the 'Gold Fever Kid,'" Jenkins told WBZ's Matt Shearer at the 99 in Quincy. "It's self-appointed."

Jenkins, who is documenting the whole thing on Instagram, looks at his journey not just as a series of meals, but a purpose.

"There’s always like old town places that are closing, and they’re like, 'aw I wish that would stay open,' but nobody ever did anything about it," Jenkins said.

Each 99 restaurant receives a rating out of 99 based on Jenkins' experience. So far every location has scored a perfect 99.

"We’ve all been to like an Applebee’s that’s been crap, you know what I mean?" Jenkins said. "But I’ve never been to a 99 where there’s been like a lack of quality."
