HULL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Overnight’s extreme weather means nothing for Karen LaFond as she ventured out for a snowy swim at Nantasket Beach Sunday morning.

While snow is still falling from the sky, LaFond was already in the freezing ocean for her routine swim.

“I don’t miss a day,” she told WBZ NewsRadio, adding that this dip into the water makes her feel alive.

She said that doing hard things like this helps her build grit and resiliency.

“The more comfortable you get, the more you age,” she continued. “I’m challenging myself. If you don’t challenge yourself, you don’t change. You [got to] do hard things.”

The National Weather Service numbers show that areas around Hull got around 3 inches of snow from last night's storm.
