LYNNFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Two Boston based drone operators are lending a helping hand to businesses in New England by reaching new heights and new customers, one drone flight at a time.
Torin and Colleen Johnson are the owners of New England Drone Tours. They showed WBZ NewsRadio’s James Rojas a bird's eye view of a house for sale, with the help of mounted go-pros, digital goggles and an iPad.
“It’s almost like a roller coaster ride where it’s just nonstop through the entire house, and you know, it’s tough to stop watching, it’s very engaging,” said Torin Johnson.
The couple shoots videos of everything, from racing go-karts to houses on the market. They started New England Drone Tours back in 2021 – where they saw a boost in business during the pandemic.

They have been able to carve out a space for themselves in the drone industry right here in New England.
“Even in looking for other pilots who could help our business, it’s limited to the New England area, we kind of have this zone locked down,” said Colleen Johnson.
They also said that social media has helped them reach new heights and audiences – with some of their drone video tours garnering hundreds of thousands of views.
