BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Tailwind Air has announced they will begin flying a new seaplane from Boston to New York.

Starting August 3, people can fly out of Boston Harbor into the New York City. Passengers will be picked up by a water taxi, which will then taken them to the South Boston waterfront. Then they will land in the New York Seaport on East 23rd Street.

The Federal Aviation Administration recently approved the flight route, which takes around 75-minutes.

The company will use Cessna Caravans which fit up to eight people.

“Due to the eight-passenger capacity of the seaplanes, and small, efficient facilities, guests can arrive for check-in as little as ten minutes before departure,” the airlines said in a press release.

One way fares start at $395. Tailwind Air will begin with two flights a day and then increase to four flights a day.
