BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston's Acting Mayor Kim Janey got a surprise from a major Hollywood star on Friday.
Mayor Janey tweeted a picture of flowers and a note she got from Grey's Anatomy Actress Ellen Pompeo to celebrate her swearing-in.
"Whether Everett, NY, or Cali, I appreciate the love from near and far," Janey wrote. "[Ellen Pompeo[ spreads joy and solidarity wherever she goes! Thank you for this bright and beautiful gift!! #GreysAnatomy #BreakingBarries #ShatteringCeilings #HerStory."
As mentioned by Janey in the post, Pompeo is a Massachusetts native -- originally born in Everett.
The actress signed the note with the message "Congratulations! Lots of broken glass on the floor!!!"
